His name was Pegasus, his name means horse.
Ross Ryan is, in fact, an adopted Australian, having been born in Kansas. He toured with Roy Orbison in the mid-seventies and then crashed into our consciousness with the monster hit "I Am Pegasus" in 1974. Ross continues to tour as a solo artist, 34 years after the horse, and now lives in Boroondara. No doubt an avid listener to Radio Ga Ga.
We chose to re-induct Ross on our Australia Day special for two reasons - he wasn't available to visit the studio when we first inducted him in early 2008 plus he's in the middle of launching his latest album and it seemed only fair to give that very excellent album a plug! |
