Never let a photo opportunity sail past! Here are some photos of the presenter and some of his guests.

Stephen Scanes - 3 April 2010
Radio Ga Ga hit the road in April 2010 and visited the Central Coast of New South Wales, just north of Sydney. It gave us the opportunity to meet with Steve Scanes, co-author of The Book: Top 40 Research - one of the great Australian music resources available.
We were able to pre-record a couple of programs focusing on the 1960's and 1980's while we were there. Listen out for those during the year.

Rick Tudor - 15 November 2009
Radio Ga Ga joined forces with another 3WBC program, Lazy Sunday Afternoon, to present an outside broadcast at Trinity Grammar School's Founders Day Fair on 15 November 2009.
Headmaster, Rick Tudor, visited our makeshift studio in the science and technology laboratory for a chat about schools, education, sustainability and lots of other things too.

Jim Keays & Bill Putt - 27 May 2009
When you talk Australian music legends, you've got to include Bill Putt (Spectrum) and Jim Keays (Masters Apprentices). They are photographed here at the For Pete's Sake benefit gig - a concert that raised funds for Peter Laffy (Mondo Rock).
Notice the shirt that Bill is wearing - the message is getting out there. Thanks, Bill!

Bill Putt - 27 May 2009
Another one of Bill in his Radio Ga Ga shirt - this time performing at the For Pete's Sake benefit concert.
Both of these photos are used with the kind permission of Mike Rudd from Spectrum.
If you get a chance, please visit his very excellent web site at www.mikeruddbillputt.com. |

Neil Butler & Russell Morris - 26 April 2009
Russell was inducted into the Radio Ga Ga Dead Set Legend Hall of Fame in June 2008 but was on the road at the time. At long last, he has stopped playing gigs for long enough to visit the 3WBC studios!
Russell talked about his career and, not surprisingly, we spent quite a while talking about his biggest hit "The Real Thing". We also played a couple of tracks off his new album Jumpstart Diary. We were honoured that he left a barbeque with Brian Cadd at Molly Meldrum's place to be with us.

Legends At The Legends - 1 February 2009
When Spectrum was inducted as Dead Set Legends in December 2008, Bill (left in photo) was unable to make it to the studios. On that day, the group was represented by Mike Rudd (right in photo)
When they played at the Moonee Valley Legends venue, it seemed like a good photo opportunity and a great chance to hear some outstanding music. Notice the exceptional colour coordination demonstrated in the photo ...

Neil Butler & Ross Ryan - 25 January 2009
Ross was our inaugural Dead Set Legend in February 2008.
Ross is probably still best known for his monster hit "I Am Pegasus" but our conversation gave us an opportunity to find out a whole lot more about him (did you know he was born in Kansas and apparently the only artist to have a gold record presented to him by an incumbent Prime Minister).

Neil At The Microphone - 28 December 2008
Here's Neil presenting Radio Ga Ga in the studios of 3WBC in Box Hill. This photo was taken from the other side of the desk by none other than Mike Rudd from the legendary Spectrum - our December 2008 Dead Set Legend
In answer to the seemingly never-ending string of questions - the logo on the shirt says "SPTB - NO THINKING". SPTB stands for Spectrum Plays The Blues.

Neil Butler & Mike Rudd - 28 December 2008
Spectrum was inducted into our Dead Set Legend Hall Of Fame in December 2008.
Mike Rudd - guitarist, lead singer and main songwriter visited the studio and chatted with me about Spectrum, interspersed with songs by Spectrum, The Indelible Murtceps and the occasional clip from a range of other musos playing "I'll Be Gone". Notice my Spectrum Plays The Blues T-shirt & Mike's Radio Ga Ga T-shirt!

Neil Butler & Graeham Goble - 6 July 2008
Graeham was inducted into our Dead Set Legend Hall of Fame in July 2008.
He visited the studio and chatted with me while we played some of his music from Drummond, Mississippi, Little River Band and Birtles & Goble.
Sadly, no larger version of this photo exists. |
